REETEC receives long-term service contract from Frischer Nordwind for preventive rotor blade inspection

Frischer Nordwind awards 4-year contract to REETEC for preventive rotor blade inspection for two wind farms

Frischer Nordwind specialises in the management and direct marketing of electricity from wind turbines and biogas. REETEC was contracted for preventive rotor blade inspection for two of their German wind farms – Rodautal and Lange Heide – over a time frame from 2019 to 2022. The service portfolio includes various tasks regarding the monitoring of rotor blades and tower of the wind turbines. In addition, this turnkey package includes data acquisition and evaluation in a detailed report. The REETEC experts then combine the resulting damage analysis with concrete proposals for repair and maintenance measures, which can be carried out directly on site. Years of experience, optimised processes and rapid execution in compliance with highest occupational safety requirements mean reduced downtime for Frischer Nordwind – and thus safeguarding yields.

In general, REETEC's customised monitoring package offers the following services for preventive maintenance of rotor blades:

- Internal, external and standardised checklists 

- Detailed analysis of blade condition based on HD images 

- Use of state-of-the-art technologies such as CORNIS, RE-VIS (REETEC Vertical Inspection System) and drones  

- Flexible access by rope on site, rotor blade service platform or cherry picker 

- Fully equipped repair workshop in Emden with corresponding logistics and 30,000 m² hall space

For customers this means: reduced production loss and planning reliability due to limited downtime of their wind turbines

"Why did the order go to REETEC? For two years now we have been dealing internally with the possibility of preventive blade inspection, because the rotors are getting bigger and bigger and should be checked regularly and above all professionally. REETEC's expertise has convinced us the most compared to other competitors," says Heiko Hansen, Managing Director of Frischer Nordwind.
