EEW SPC has loaded the last monopile for Arkona

Almost exactly three months after the first load out, the last of 60 monopiles for the Arkona Offshore Windpark was loaded

Erndtebrück, 09 November 2017 – Almost exactly three months after the first load out, the last of 60 monopiles for the Arkona Offshore Windpark, a joint venture of E.ON and Statoil, was loaded at the port basin of EEW Special Pipe Constructions GmbH on 7th November 2017.

Due to their high unit weight, the foundations were lowered into the water by tandem lifts. On 17th October 2017, there was another record in this respect. For the first time, a 1,200 tonne monopile was lifted with two cranes over the quayside on this day. Until now, these heavyweights were driven onto the barge by means of multiwheelers.

The Arkona offshore wind park, with a total capacity of 385 MW, is to feed electricity into the German grid from 2019.
