Deutsche Windtechnik has signed new service contracts for wind turbines with an output of more than 400 MW in Spain

Deutsche Windtechnik is increasing its presence in the Spanish wind energy market: the company signed two new full-service contracts for wind turbines with a total output of more than 400 MW with major market participants in the field of renewable energies this month. The first contract covers maintenance for twelve wind farms with a total of 357 Gamesa wind turbines (355 MW) over a period of five years. This also includes the G4X turbine type, which is being added to Deutsche Windtechnik's portfolio for the first time. The second contract covers full maintenance for Vestas V90 turbines with an output of 54 MW. A new, highly flexible maintenance concept that is tailored to the customer's needs will be implemented for this work.

Diego Botero García, Managing Director of Deutsche Windtechnik in Spain, said: “More than 400 MW of new contracts are clear proof of our growth and that Deutsche Windtechnik's strategy of improving service quality and adapting to customer maintenance requirements is successful. These two comprehensive contracts demonstrate the customer's trust in our services. We are very much looking forward to further cooperation and are proud that we have convinced major operators in Spain of the quality and high safety standards of our services."

High quality service leads to steady growth

The two contracts strengthen Deutsche Windtechnik's position in Spain as a whole in the long term, but especially in the key regions of Aragon and Catalonia, where both the new projects as well as Deutsche Windtechnik's headquarters are located. In order to be able to shoulder these new service tasks, the existing structures needed to be adapted to the growth: 30 service technicians were recruited just for the new projects. In addition, the companyis actively building up its office staff to be optimally prepared for further growth over the coming years. Deutsche Windtechnik's Spanish unit currently employs more than 200 people and has more than 1,300 wind turbines under maintenance contracts, including Gamesa (more than 700 G4X to G97 wind turbines), Vestas / NEG Micon, Gamesa and Siemens turbines. This makes it one of the leading mulit-brand independent service providers.
