Rotor blades account for around a quarter of the total costs of a wind turbine. By switching from small series production to large-scale industrial production, considerable cost advantages can be achieved and the manufacturing quality significantly increased. In the joint project "BladeMaker", 16 partners led by Fraunhofer IWES have tested new materials for manufacturing, optimized processes and developed their own blade design, which is particularly suitable for industrialized manufacturing. The demo center was opened in April 2016 - the project partners have now managed the integration and demonstration of all sub-processes along the process chain. The partners will present their project results at the final conference on 28 November in Bremerhaven.
