The scope of work for the production of platform components at the shipyard in Papenburg amounts to around 43,500 tons of steel. Around 32,000 tons of this is accounted for by the production of sections for the BalWin1 and BalWin2 projects. The offshore connections DolWin4 and BorWin4 account for around 11,500 tons.

Commissioning by 2030
The four offshore grid connection systems DolWin4 and BorWin4 as well as BalWin1 and BalWin2 connect wind farms in the North Sea with the onshore transmission grid. They will be installed in parallel both on- and offshore.
Amprion uses direct current technology for the lconnections, which allows large amounts of energy to be transported with low losses. DolWin4 and BorWin4 each have a transmission power of 900 megawatts and are scheduled to go online in 2028. BalWin1 and BalWin2, which each have a tranmission power of 2,000 megawatts, are scheduled to go online in 2029 and 2030.
